About The Author
Elena Kapatou
I’m Eleni Kapatou, author, academic, and artist. This space was created to honor the life and legacy of my father, Captain Christos Kapatos, whose story of courage, sacrifice, and quiet strength inspired my first book — and continues to shape my own path.
In addition to writing, I also express memory and emotion through painting, and you’ll find a selection of my original artworks featured here.

To share with the world the life of a man of honor-whose example teaches us that courage is not about never being afraid, but about loving something-someone-so much that you face every fear to protect them.
I hope as you read this story, you will not only see the life of my father but also fi nd refl ections of your own fathers, mothers, brothers, and sisters-those who have fought quietly to keep us safe, who have sailed through life’s roughest seas without complaint.
